Appreciate Stillness With Local Clothing Brand Peace & Quiet

Created by soon-to-be husband and wife duo, Ashley Daquigan and Christion Lennon, Peace & Quiet is all about appreciating stillness and slowing down to enjoy Mother Earth and the world outside of technology. Together, they’ve produced a collection of unisex clothing and goods with earthy aesthetic, creative collaborations, fair wage practices and local production in Los Angeles, California.

What’s the inspiration behind Peace & Quiet, and what aspirations do you have for your company moving forward?  

Peace & Quiet is our approach to life and when CL was battling with anxiety (he is a workaholic!), we took a lot of trips to revitalize and reset – specifically our recent road trip to Marfa TX, Sedona AZ, and Santa Fe NM  – all really peaceful and quiet places inspired us to slow down, unplug, and appreciate the stillness away from the city (and our laptops). As we live in a world where most of us are overworked, overstimulated, and desensitized, we really hope to raise awareness on self-care and a healthy live/work balance. 

Do you practice a sustainable/low impact/zero-waste lifestyle? If so, how do you practice it and what are your motivators? 

We definitely implement a sustainable lifestyle as much as we can to up-cycle and reduce our waste. We love to support local and small businesses.  

What’s one small change humans can do to show a little love Mother Earth that they may not realize? 

Shopping at your local farmers market! Not only is this beneficial to the consumer, but it's also beneficial to the environment.

What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever received? What’s the greatest piece of encouragement? 

 “Time is currency, so PAY attention to what you SPEND your time on” 

What are you excited about? Is there anything fun coming up for you? 

 We’re really excited for our app launching soon that we’ve been working on. Also, some collaborations coming out top of next year. We’re looking forward to 2020.
